Lady Yegua Softball is headed home from the Schulenburg Tournament with lots to celebrate! The girls went 4-0 on the weekend with wins over Luling JV, Moulton, Luling Varsity and Boling! The girls showed lots of grit and determination on the field and their hard work is showing up every game! We also have some special celebrations for the weekend!!! ⭐️ CONGRATS to our junior pitcher, Emma Williams, for reaching 250 career strikeouts during today’s last game! 😤❤️‍🔥 ⭐️ CONGRATS to our only freshman this year, Abigail Richardson for hitting her first out of the park home run in our game vs Luling! 🤩❤️‍🔥 We are so proud of them and are excited to keep the momentum rolling!!! 👏🔥

A handful of our Yeguas participated in the Burleson County Ag Breakfast this morning at the Burleson County Cowboy Church!

Hats off to our Ag students on a great showing! 🤠🍽️

Several of our seniors had a great experience at the HYPE (Helping Youth Prepare for Employment) Career Expo this morning!

The event, hosted by Workforce Solutions Brazos Valley, was a great opportunity to learn more about several local industries!

We appreciate everyone who supported the Somerville Class of 2026 on Friday.

More than 200 chicken-fried steak dinners were sold for our senior class fundraiser 🍴😋

Reminder for Parents!
Don’t forget — we have a mandatory parent meeting tonight at 5:30 PM in the Elementary Cafeteria to discuss Jr High Cheer Tryouts, tonight- February 16th!

This meeting is for parents of incoming 7th and 8th graders (current 6th and 7th graders). We’ll be handing out important information and going over everything you need to know about tryouts.

Please make plans to attend — you won’t want to miss these important details!

Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) Meeting: February 11th at 5 PM!

Recently, our Principles of Health Science class visited Blinn's RELLIS Campus for a tour of the Health Science Division! 🚍🏫

Health Science Advisor Sharon Glover took the students on an amazing tour, showing them all of the real-life opportunities in learning they had available on this campus.

They were guided through Emergency Services, Nursing, Radiology Tech, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Surgical Tech programs 🩺🏥 Within all of these programs, the students were able to see all of their lab areas, where hands-on learning uses state-of-art technology to teach students ⚕️

Many of the instructors stopped to talk with our students to offer advice and give them information. The students enjoyed their tour and enjoyed Chick-fila with their classmates, while they discussed their tour and possibilities for the future!

This is just the first step in our Health Science pathway. We have so much more to come!

Order in the court!! 👩‍⚖️

Last week, Mrs. Daly's 7th-grade classes prosecuted the case of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart".

The prosecution was tasked with proving the narrator was guilty of his crimes, while the defense argued the narrator was not of sound mind.

Big thanks to our staff members who contributed as witnesses and jury members!

EXTRA, EXTRA!! 🗞️ Breaking news out of Texas! 📰

Mrs. Srivastava's 7th grade Texas History class made presentations on several Civil War battles, focusing on their connections to our state.

After sharing background on their assigned battles, each group reenacted a news bulletin providing updates "live" from the scene 📻🎙️

First 💯 days of school!! ✅

This morning, we took some time to commemorate the occasion. Some of our Yeguas looked like they were celebrating their 100th birthday 🤔😅

We were especially excited to celebrate this milestone for our Pre-K students!! 👏👏
