Somerville Intermediate School -

Congratulations to twelve members of the Somerville Middle School Band for their selection to the 18/26 MS All-Region Band. The contest was held at Smithville HS on Saturday, December 6th. Participating schools included Burton, Brentwood Christian, Caldwell, Columbus, Flatonia, Giddings, Hallettsville, LaGrange, Lexington, McDade, Manor, Shiner, Smithville, Somerville, Thorndale, Thrall, Wimberley, and Weimar. The following Somerville Students were selected to the All-Region Symphonic Band (2nd band):

Brady Eschete - Trumpet
Arieanna Alba Pena - Trumpet
Kaylee Gentry - Euphonium

The following Somerville students were selected for the Concert Band (3rd band):

Mylya Johnson - Bb Soprano Clarinet
Ariana Zamora Ramirez - Tenor Trombone
Adriel Hinojosa - Tuba

Sophia Hernandez - Euphonium Alternate

All of the above students will participate in a clinic/concert at the Bastrop Performing Arts Center on January 30th and 31st, 2026. More details will follow soon.

We are ready to send the Bulldogs to the moon! Check out our Elementary/Intermediate Astronauts and Aliens! Good Luck to our Yeguas as they take on the Bartlett Bulldogs tonight at 7 at the Yegua Stadium.

Our annual Hispanic Heritage Family Night will take place tomorrow, 10/15/25, at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. We invite you and your family to join us for a celebration filled with community, culture, and connection.

Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from September 15 to October 15, honors the histories, cultures, and contributions of individuals whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This annual celebration is a time to recognize the rich diversity and lasting impact of Hispanic and Latino communities in our nation.

The evening will include Lotería, prizes, and a delicious meal prepared by the Somerville ISD Culinary Department, generously sponsored by Kovasovic’s Meat Market. We are grateful for their continued support in helping make this event special.

We look forward to seeing you and your family as we come together to celebrate.
