Calvert has a special team this season. It was a good opportunity to host them. They dominated on the boards. They limited us to one shot and offensively they had multiple offense rebounds. They scored most of their points in the lane.

12-4-20 Boys Varsity Basketball:
Yeguas 41
Fayetteville 28
Points:
Brandyn Carter 11
Arvis Burns 9
Herschel Conway 6
Jesus Espinoza 5
Verkobe Woodberry 4
Gardner Shivers 4
Dominic Tucker 2
Game Notes:
Tonight we were able to beat Fayetteville at their place despite multiple team players. Arvis Burns, an all- Brazos county player, only played 3-4 minutes of the 2nd half. So it was a great opportunity for our players to step up in a road varsity game. With Arvis out junior Verkobe Woodberry was the only upperclassman on the court for us. He provided the leadership we needed. Our sophomores (Brandyn Carter, Jesus Espinoza, & last season new-comer of the year Dominic Tucker) all played very well for us. Brandyn led us in scoring and showed flashes of how talented he is. Jesus & Dominic controlled the paint for us. Our two freshmen (Herschel Conway & Gardner Shivers) both played a lot of minutes and really stepped up. Gardner did a little of everything for us and Herschel made two 3s & provided some good defensive pressure.
Next game
12-8-20 We host the #1 pre-season 1A team according to Dave Campbell's Texas Basketball magazine Calvert.
We look forward to the challenge. It will be a rematch of last season's tough OT battle at the Bremond Tournament championship game.
Thank you.

Parents/Guardians of Elementary and Intermediate Students- Please take a moment to help us make improvements by completing the following survey. What if parents/guardians have multiple children in the same school or in different schools? To be respectful of parent/guardians’ time, we encourage families to complete one survey per school that their children attend. If a parent/guardian has two children in the same school, they should complete the survey based on the experiences of the older child. If a parent/guardian has two children at two different schools, they should complete one survey per school.

Dear Families, November 2, 2020
This week in Social Studies we are focusing on justice. We will be turning ourselves into superheroes by the end of the week. Today students will answer questions such as how do I help, what are my powers, what am I famous for, and what do I stand for (this should be in their folders this afternoon when they come home).
I would like for this to be a family project in which you and your student design and create their superhero cape together. This Thursday, November 5th, students will be able to present their superhero identity to the class and wear their capes. Capes can be made using scraps of cloth, old t-shirts, pillow cases and/or paper, you can be as creative as you would like.
Thanks,
Ms. Maldonado
