Yegua Tennis had a successful day today in the Navasota JV Tennis Tournament! Colt/Wendy went 4-0 for a 1st place finish🥇 Viv/Dom went 1-3 for consolation champs🏅 Aubrey/Gabby went 1-1 for 3rd place finish🥉

Yegua Track hit the road early this morning and headed to Deweyville for the Area track meet. 9 Yeguas racked up 124 points to take home second place as a team at the Area Meet. All 9 athletes advanced to the Regional Meet next week! Barrett Howe won the district golf meet yesterday, shooting an 84. He will compete in the Regional meet later this month on Corpus Christi. Way to go, Yegua Golfer!

The following students passed the Food Manager Exam and have earned their Food Manager Certificate. Charles Morgan, Jena Foster, Arath Carrillo, Stephon Turner, Kalyjiah Simons, Destiny Vela, Keira Moore, BraKayla Minor, Blair Youngblood, Emily Strange, Evelyn Lambert, Jessica Ramirez The food manager certificate will allow students a competitive edge in the food service industry. At least one person per shift in the food service industry must have their food manager certification in Texas.

Attention Juniors and Seniors! Prom tickets are now on sale. You must purchase prom tickets from Mrs. McGonagill directly. Tickets are $30. Please remember if your guest is not a SHS student, you must have the Prom Guest Request form completed and turned in before Friday, March 29th. You can pick this form up in the front office.

Somerville Seniors participated in the Stop The Bleed and Officer Training. BIG thanks to Nurse Eschete and Officers Brown and Wallingford for the training yesterday. Thank you to the Somerville Fire Department for providing breakfast for our Seniors.

The Culinary and Advanced Culinary Arts block classes learned how to make homemade pasta from scratch. They even made homemade Alfredo Sauce. WOW looks Yummy!!!!

Students in the Restaurant Management class are practicing how to pipe frosting. They will create their personalized cupcake style for a class cupcake battle. Way to Go Culinary Yeguas!!!!!!!!!

Koppers Track Meet: March 4th and 7th! Thank you to all of our volunteers and KOPPERS for making this event Awesome! Our Track Yeguas appreciate all the hard work you put in to make this the #1 Track Meet! Thank You!!!!!

The Princess Project is hosting a free prom dress shopping event in Bryan for Junior and Senior students attending prom. Upcoming dates are March 16 and March 23 from 10am to 1pm.

Today our little Yegua Chefs whipped up some Green Eggs and Ham and graphed their responses about the taste for letter G!
