🚨 Attention Parents!

Somerville ISD has been selected to participate in the TEA Parent Involvement Survey.

Beginning today, parents of students receiving special education services will be contacted via text and/or email to provide feedback to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

This survey will be sent to parents from Gibson Consulting, and this feedback helps to support and guide improvements to our special education services.

The National Anthem will play at 4:55p to begin the running finals!

See the flyer below for information about the PDSES grant. The Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) program offers a one-time $1,500 grant for eligible students receiving special education services in Texas public schools.

Our softball program will be hosting Little League Night during our Friday, April 17th game against Iola 🥎 Those participating will have the opportunity to join us on the field during the National Anthem! 🇺🇸

That night at the game, burger meal deals will also be available 🍔 All proceeds collected will be donated to our local Little League softball program.

Playoff shirt order forms are now out and will also be available at tonight’s game. Shirts are $20 each, and all orders and payments are due by April 13th — no exceptions. This deadline ensures shirts arrive in time for our first playoff game. The final design will feature our team name and roster, with an orange and white graphic on a black Dri-Fit shirt. For an order form, please contact Coach Balboa, Coach Maldonado, or any player.

Applying our lessons from psychology and sociology 🧠👥

Mrs. Thormer's made presentations today, analyzing these factors in criminal behavior. Our students spent the week researching their subject and making an assessment on their criminal's motivational factors 🕵️

This assignment was a great opportunity to practice finding new information and communicating their reports!

Analyzing historical political cartoons in World History with Mrs. Thormer🌍

We looked at several examples from the 19th century, analyzing the era's ongoing European imperialism.

Teaching one of our most important lessons of the year: How to administer emergency health care ⚕️

This week, many of our seniors completed our "Stop the Bleed" training and CPR class. They learned how to stabilize wounds, apply tourniquets, and provide life-saving medications 💊

This course also fulfilled their state-mandated CPR and AED training requirements for graduation.

You can never be too prepared for emergencies - our Yeguas are ready to offer a helping hand!! 👏🩹❤️‍🩹

This morning, we treated our maintenance staff to breakfast tacos at the high school and an ice cream social at the elementary campus 🌮🍨

Our Pre-K students also drew signs to show their gratitude! 🥹
