Students, Parents, and Guardians, did you know that you can request accommodations for SAT testing? Here's how you can make a request: 1) Contact the school’s SSD coordinator, Stephanie Treadwell, at streadwell@somervilleisd.org or call 979-596-1502. As soon as a student knows that they will need accommodations for a College Board exam, they should contact the school’s SSD coordinator. 2) Sign the Parent Consent Form. Before the rest of the application can be processed, the student’s parent or guardian must sign the Parent Consent Form. (If the student is over age 18, then the student signs the form.) 3) The SSD coordinator, Stephanie Treadwell, will open a request in SSD Online. 4) SSD sends notice of the decision. 5) If accommodations are approved, the decision letter also has an eligibility letter with test-by-test details. The decision and eligibility letters include the student's eligibility code, which is needed for SAT registration. The deadline to make an accommodation request for Spring 2023 is Tuesday, January 31st.

The Culinary and Advanced Culinary courses made homemade doughnuts using yeast. It was a 2 day process. First day they made the dough and it had to sit overnight. Second day they learned that the yeast had to rise one more time before they could make this delicious treat. They now have a better understanding of what it takes for doughnut shops to make doughnuts.
