Good morning Yeguas! The City of Somerville is in the process of restoring water to the town. Water should be restored by the time school begins this morning; however we will remain under a “boil water” notice for most likely the remainder of the day. Breakfast and lunch will be served today, but we may need to adjust the scheduled menu items being offered. As a result, we will have bottles of water available for our students and staff to drink throughout the day or until the boil water notice is lifted. Bus routes will run at their regular times this morning, and school will start as scheduled. We appreciate you!
Due to a potential threat that we have received regarding tonight's football game against Normangee, we are taking the following precautions. Entry into tonight's game will only be through the main entrance (home side), all bags coming into the stadium will be searched, and metal-detecting wands will be used for all guests coming into the stadium. We will have additional staff and law enforcement present tonight to assist with getting guests into the stadium as quickly as possible. This is a reminder that the game will begin at 7:30, and the gates will open for fans at 6:15. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; the safety of our fans, players, and staff is paramount. We look forward to a safe football game and rooting on our Yeguas tonight!
The varsity football game vs. Normangee tomorrow, August 30th, has been pushed back to a start time of 7:30 p.m. Come out and support our Yeguas for our first home football game of the season!

Please donate school supplies/monetary donations THIS MONDAY, August 5, Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive from 3-6 pm at 3 different locations-Caldwell Walmart parking lot, Snook ISD parking lot, & Somerville B&B parking lot. All donations will stay local and be given DIRECTLY to Burleson County schools for staff to give to students who were not able to attend the Back to School Blast and help students replenish throughout the school year. Make immunizations a part of your child’s back-to-school routine. Consult with their doctor to ensure they are caught up on their vaccines and prepared for the upcoming school year, especially incoming kindergarteners and 7th graders! Contact Amie Eschete, BSN, RN for information about required vaccinations. Any students who are not up-to-date on immunizations will not be permitted to attend school until all vaccinations are received.

The recent volleyball camp achieved remarkable participation. Girls from elementary and intermediate school displayed their enthusiasm for the sport by learning new techniques and enjoying the experience over the course of three days.
Thank you to the parents who allowed their athletes to participate, and thank you to the high school athletes who took time out to volunteer their time these past three days and work with these young ladies.
The future is BRIGHT!
