Hello Yeguas! Last year, Somerville ISD became a District of Innovation, which allowed our school district greater flexibility in matters such as how we create our district academic calendars. This year, we focused on creating a calendar that maximized professional development opportunities for our staff at the beginning and end of each six weeks. This has allowed our staff to take full advantage of planning together and analyzing student data trends to more effectively meet the needs of our students. Congratulations to five members of the Somerville Band for being selected to the TMEA / ATSSB All-Region Middle School Band. The contest was held on Saturday, December 14th at Smithville High School. There were over thirty schools represented by 700 students. in this rigorous individual try-out. The following Somerville students were chosen:

Mason Novosad - Cornet / Trumpet - Concert (2nd) Band
