Somerville community, the bond proposition passed with 317 votes (For) and 281 (Against) or 53.01% (For) and 46.99% (Against).
One of our primary goals during this bond election was to ensure that every voter had the information needed to make an informed decision. The strong turnout during early voting and on Election Day shows that our community cares deeply about the future of Somerville ISD.
Throughout this process, we remained committed to transparency and accessibility, working hard to earn the trust of our community. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped share that message—your dedication to this process truly made a difference.
To all of the Yeguas in our community—whether you voted for or against the proposition—please know that our commitment to open communication will continue as we move into the next phase of this journey. Your voice matters, and we genuinely welcome your continued involvement in the work going on in our district.
A strong school system is the foundation of a thriving community, and we need your partnership now more than ever. I’ve always believed that Somerville’s best days are still to come—and with the passage of this bond, it’s clear our community believes that too.
Thank you for being part of this journey! Go Yeguas!
Eric Holton
Superintendent, Somerville ISD

We had 23 industry partners participate in our Career Fair, where 200 students attended to explore college and career opportunities, share their resumes, and practice introductory speeches and professional dialogue. Thank you to our community members and industry partners for making this possible and supporting Somerville ISD students!
