Homeschool students are now eligible to participate in our district's UIL extracurricular activities. The policy was approved at the SISD Board of Trustees' July meeting.
Students outside of Somerville ISD's attendance zone may join our programs, provided that SISD is the closest district to the student's residence allowing homeschool participation. All other districts within Burleson, Brazos, and Washington counties have opted out of this policy for the 2026-27 academic year.
Participating homeschool students will be held to the same expectations as our enrolled students. This includes academic eligibility checks, practice participation, attendance at corresponding class periods, and all other policies outlined in the SISD Extracurricular Handbook.
