For the Last day of Teacher Appreciation Week, our Teachers were treated with a "Sandwich Bar", with an array of deli meats, cheeses, and veggies to choose from. We ended the day with Peach Cobbler and Ice cream! We have enjoyed showing our teachers how much we love them. Special thanks to PTO and all other organizations that contributed to our celebration this week.

Happy Nurse Appreciation Week to the very BEST school Nurse, Mrs. Amie Eschete. We are blessed to have her at SISD. We hope she enjoys her gift provided by SES/SIS Faculty and Staff.

In continuation of Teacher Appreciation week, teachers received a massage from Melissa Andrews from Back Talk Massage out of Caldwell, TX. We appreciate her for donating her time and service to the wonderful teachers at Somerville Elementary/ Intermediate school. Following their massages, teachers were treated to a lovely Hydration Bar with fresh fruit and flavor packs.
We would also like to shout out Citizen State Bank for bringing our teachers donuts for breakfast! 🍩
Also, we would like to thank Somerville Church of God for providing cookies and brownies for our teachers. 🍪
SISD has an amazing group of educators!

Teacher Appreciation is in full swing! Tuesday, teachers enjoyed sweet and salty snacks. Wednesday, teachers feasted on muffins and pastries. We also scheduled hour long lunch breaks for both Elementary and Intermediate teachers. They deserve all of this and more! Special thanks to Elementary/ Intermediate PTO your partnership in Teacher Appreciation Week. ☺️

Good afternoon Yeguas!

It is a Career and Technical Student Organization that plays a crucial role in the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system. FCCLA provides members with the opportunity to enhance their leadership potential and develop essential life skills, including planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication. Somerville community, the bond proposition passed with 317 votes (For) and 281 (Against) or 53.01% (For) and 46.99% (Against).
One of our primary goals during this bond election was to ensure that every voter had the information needed to make an informed decision. The strong turnout during early voting and on Election Day shows that our community cares deeply about the future of Somerville ISD.
Throughout this process, we remained committed to transparency and accessibility, working hard to earn the trust of our community. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped share that message—your dedication to this process truly made a difference.
To all of the Yeguas in our community—whether you voted for or against the proposition—please know that our commitment to open communication will continue as we move into the next phase of this journey. Your voice matters, and we genuinely welcome your continued involvement in the work going on in our district.
A strong school system is the foundation of a thriving community, and we need your partnership now more than ever. I’ve always believed that Somerville’s best days are still to come—and with the passage of this bond, it’s clear our community believes that too.
Thank you for being part of this journey! Go Yeguas!

We had 23 industry partners participate in our Career Fair, where 200 students attended to explore college and career opportunities, share their resumes, and practice introductory speeches and professional dialogue. Thank you to our community members and industry partners for making this possible and supporting Somerville ISD students!
