Mrs. Webb's Pre-K class is learning the letter S/s this week, and today is Superhero Day! Our superheroes made their own capes and we had a special superhero reader! We have awesome Yegua Superheroes at SISD!!!
A Rare Disease is any disease, disorder, illness, or condition affecting fewer than 200,000 people in the United States is considered to be rare. There are approximately 7,000 rare diseases. Most rare diseases are genetic.
Chances are you know someone who might have a rare disease. Many different types of cancer fall under the umbrella of "rare diseases", including many pediatric cancers. 72% of the diseases are genetic and almost 1 out of 5 cancers is rare.
Rare Disease Day is the globally-coordinated movement on rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease.
Rare Disease Day is observed every year on 28 February (or 29 in leap years)—the rarest day of the year.
People are asked to wear stripes or bright bold colors. Those with a rare disease are called zebras in the medical field, many also consider themselves to be unicorns.

Students and faculty wear your Yegua gear and school colors to support the Varsity Boys Basketball team Area Playoff game tomorrow.
The game will be played at the Bryan High School gym at 6:30pm. Tickets must be purchased online, link is provided below. No cash will be accepted at the gate for tomorrow's game.
