I joined Somerville ISD 4 years ago at the high school after 11 years prior service in Texas public education as a teacher and as an educational diagnostician. I began my career in Klein ISD where I was born and raised. I began my teaching career in first grade, after graduating from The University of Houston with a degree in education and a specialization in reading. After teaching for 6 years, I obtained my master’s degree from Texas Tech University in special education and spent 5 years as an educational diagnostician. I returned to the classroom working as a coach and interventionist and then to administration. I am excited to be the intermediate principal this year and continue to help Somerville ISD students become the best that they can be. I believe that all students can learn despite their obstacles and that we are responsible for cultivating in them a desire to learn, and imparting them with the tools that they need to be successful.
