 Somerville Student: Cody Williams - 220 lbs Weight Class. Cody lifted a combined weight total of 1495 lbs. Cody finished 5th in his weight class. Cody squated 575 lbs., benched 335 lbs., and dead lifted 585 lbs. Cody's dead lift of 585 lbs is a new state record for Division III school (schools in 2A and 1A).

Cody finished 6th in his weight class. He lifted a combined weight total of 1385 lbs - squat 465 lbs., bench 345 lbs., and dead lift 575 lbs. Cody is the first student ever in Somerville HS history to compete at the USAPL National High School Meet.

On His Way to Nationals
 At the Texas A&M Powerlifting Invitational, Cody placed 2nd Place in his weight class. Cody lifted a total weight of 1360 lbs in the 3 lifts (Squat, Bench Press, and Dead Lift). Even though this was a college meet, this qualifies Cody for the USA Powerlifting High School National Meet held in Alexandria, LA on March 30-April 1. Cody out lifted other college students from schools such as: Texas A& M, Texas Tech, Sam Houston State, UTSA, Howard Payne, and UTA.
Cody has also qualified for the Texas High School Powerlifing Association's Regional Meet held at Gatesville High School on March 10. Cody is currently ranked #1 in the Region 2 Division 3 with a total lift of 1500 lbs.
